Boston Fish Pier

I managed to find my way to the new Seaport district of Boston. You can tell it is new because there is a lot of construction going on here. But that doesn’t mean that there is nothing here. There are already quite a few high rises here. Obviously this is a prized location. There are several wharves here which are now used to recreational purposes like cruises. There would also be some places which are built for restaurants. Legal Seafoods, where I just had lunch is built on a platform out on the water. It would hesitate to call it a wharf but it would be a very short on if it is.

There are also historical ones such as the nearby Boston Fish Pier. This was home to the largest fishing fleet in the eastern United States. That was way back in 1920. These days, you would be surprised to know that this place is still very much active. You can actually walk here but you need to be aware that this is still a very much active fishing pier and there will be people working here. There are offices of various fishing companies on the pier. It was a Sunday when I visited and there were only a handful of them open. So I didn’t think it was that interesting. Perhaps going on a weekday would have been more interesting.
