Inside Saint-Pierre de Montmartre

I was huffing and puffing by the time I got to the top of Montmatre which is a hill overlooking Paris. There is a famous church here I would like to visit and I ended up seeing the Saint-Pierre de Montmartre. This is a rather old church that is considered one of the oldest in Paris. There are some signs of something older in the site but it is hard to tell now that the church has been in this site for a while now. I was surprised how the church didn’t seem to look anything like what I saw in the photos but I didn’t pay too much attention to it, maybe I remembered wrong.

Inside was rather dark compared to the bright day outside. I think I was lucky because the sky cleared up and there was finally clear skies. Hopefully, I would be able to get good shots. For such a supposedly well known place, I thought that there were too few people visiting the Inside Saint-Pierre de Montmartre. Maybe people prefer to just take photos outside the church. Indeed, this church didn’t seem to be as elaborate as the other churches I have visited in this trip. Of course, it has the requisite stained glass windows, but I think one feature stood out for me and that is the statue of Saint-Pierre or Saint Peter. It reminded me of the statue of Saint Peter at the Vatican. This is includes the foot which people would hold at the Vatican.
