Going to Petite France

I realized that I didn’t really plan my visit to Strasbourg that well. I managed to arrive in Strasbourg a little earlier than I expected that I didn’t really know where to go. I was thinking that maybe i would just randomly walk in the direction of the apartment that I would be able to see something interesting. I still have my large backpack with me so I can’t be walking fast. I think I got a little training from the past few days walking around Reims that the backpack wasn’t bothering me that much anymore. I was thinking that maybe I should just try to make it to the south of the Grand Île and I think that would be good for me.

The Grand Île is an island formed by the flowing of canals around the city center of Strasbourg. It just so happened that most of the interesting places in Strasbourg can be found in this island. As I was walking about, I would see multiple landmarks here. Churches which are plentiful here in the Grand Île. I can’t tell if they were even active since the gates to them were closed. I no longer find this strange because I am aware that attendance has gone down throughout the years. Strasbourg itself has several churches just at the Grand Île. It would be a wonder if there are a lot of people still attending services in all those churches.
