Christmas Market at Reims

I got back to Reims earlier than I planned. I managed to get a slot at the champagne tasting tour and I was done earlier than planned. I decided to head back to Reims and go around a little bit. I ended up at a very lively street called Place Drouet d’Erlon. The street is lined with numerous restaurants that I thought that It would be great to have dinner here. It was still early evening then and when I went in a restaurant, I was told that they won’t be open until seven in the evening. It was only 5:30pm and I have a lot of time before the restaurant opens. I decided to walk around the area since I haven’t been to this part of the city.

Turns out that it wasn’t that far from the major attractions of Reims, in particular, I ended up going back to the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Reims where there was a major Christmas Market. It was still early evening but there were already a lot of people here. Fortunately, I do not have a heavy backpack with me so it was easy to move around. There was no massive queue to get in either so I thought to just enjoy it since I have the time. I really like these Christmas markets, it is a shame that there isn’t one where I live which is why I take the chance to visit whenever I see one. There are some pretty common stuff they have on sale here but there are also some unique shops which sell handicrafts. Knowing that I will be having dinner soon, I decided to just have a snack here. I ended up getting a chocolate waffle. It was made well, and it was great because it was freshly made. I would have wanted a bit more chocolate in it though but I way happy with it.
