After a day out of town visiting the archeological ruins of Volubilis, getting stuck in the town of Moulay Idriss, I made it back to Meknès. I had a good lunch and went back to the riad to rest. I didn’t really know what else to do here. I spent the afternoon people watching at the main square. It was quite amusing to see how the square would fill up with vendors by evening. You can see people dragging out their wares to sell. A lot of them would be coming from the medina and they will pull out carts down towards the square to sell. It was an interesting sight but the vendors eventually left as the night dragged on. I decided to find a place to have dinner.

I have been to a few places here in the medina and they seemed to be quite okay. I was wondering if there are any place here outside which would be nice to hang out in. I went beyond the city walls and found this place called Restaurant Salma. It seemed to be quiet but it had a balcony where you can look out while you have dinner. I thought it was a bad decision to go in since there were hardly any patrons in the restaurant apart from a couple of tables in balcony. The view wasn’t that great either since it was a bit further away from the medina. I had myself a place of kefta, which wasn’t nice at all. It seemed to be one of those mass produced ones, maybe I could have done better if I chose something else.
