The Museum of Andalusian Music is like a hidden oasis in the desert of the medina of Fès. All of a sudden, you are left alone to explore the museum exhibits. This is in contrast to the madness outside where people are constantly calling out to you and claiming to be your friend. In these cases, I was thinking that I should have just brought out my headphones and listened to music so I would not offend them by ignoring them. At least, if I have the headphones on, they won’t even bother calling out to me. For now, I am enjoying the tranquility which the Museum of Andalusian Music. It is set up in a restored building which a garden at the center. The exhibits are inside the building and you can take your time as you go around the exhibits.

For something which claims to be a Museum of Andalusian Music, the musical instruments actually form just a part of their exhibits. There are other stuff here which are arguably more interesting compared to the musical instruments themselves. There is a section here which features artifacts from the Sahara. I must admit that I hardly know anything about the culture here apart from some stereotypes. The lifestyle in the desert is totally different from the one I am used to and this is probably a good way to know about it. One exhibit here are things that probably would only show up in the desert, such as a saddle for a camel. I know you would see them in photos but to actually see one is quite fascinating. Apparently, these saddles can be quite fancy as well depending on the rider who can be royalty. These are just some of the exhibits on display here, I think I would like them more than the musical instruments.
