Dinner at Whistle Stop Restaurant

I got stuck at Logan Pass because of traffic caused by construction. It took me 30 minutes to get out of the car park and finally back down. I was afraid that I would have to spend the night there. Now, my only concern would be where to eat. As usual, I needed to retrace my route from the Going to the Sun Road back to West Glacier via East Glacier. It is a very inconvenient route but not much that I can do. At least I get to see the other places along the way. One of these places is East Glacier where there are several motels and restaurants. I saw the Whistle Stop Restaurant and thought I would get dinner here.

There weren’t too many restaurant open that time of the year in Glacier so I thought that I would try one once I see one open. The name Whistle Stop sounds familiar and they even have “famous” on their name but I wonder if they are really that famous. There weren’t too many people eating here. It was a simple diner with several tables. I think it is mostly the people who stay in East Glacier who eat here since there weren’t a lot of choices here. I thought West Glacier would have had more choices even if they were just along the highway. I had a rack of ribs which turned out to be a mistake. The ribs weren’t very tender and they were difficult to eat. I like my ribs falling off the bone so this one was a huge fail for me. Others tables had the usual burgers here but I didn’t want burgers again. The chili soup was a bit new for me but it turn out to be just chili turned into soup. I never had it like that before. I supposed when you are in this area, choices can be limited here. I thought it was a still a good idea to stop here at least I get to see the village of East Glacier a little better.
