Lake McDonald

When I was booking my accommodations for Glacier National Park, I was considering staying in Whitefish since there seem to be more establishments there. However, I also didn’t like that I would need to drive thirty minutes from Whitefish just to get to the park. I managed to find accommodations at Lake Five Resort while technically, not inside the park it is very close to it. One benefit is that I could go to the park as frequently as I want. I took a short break at my cabin at Lake Five Resort and head out again that afternoon. The weather was much better today and I was hoping to get great photos of Lake McDonald.

I was not disappointed when I arrived at Lake McDonald. The sky was blue and the sun was shining. There were clouds which would obscure the sun every now and then but it wasn’t that bad. I managed to get very good photos of Lake McDonald. I don’t think I have seen a more beautiful lake than this. It helps that there are also mountains on both sides of the lake and all the way to the other end of the lake. There is only a small sprinkling of snow on top of the tallest mountains here but I suspect that this would be changing very soon. This was a time where the weather is transitioning from summer to winter. So it would be very cold here soon. In the meantime, I try to enjoy the remaining days of lovely weather here at Lake McDonald.
