Lake Five

Lake Five

Lake Five

I was hoping to see more when I visited Bigfork, a town on the northern shore of Flathead Lake. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very nice when I was there and I lost the desire to explore. It was threatening to rain when I left but it was clearing up by the time I left Bigfork after lunch. I was hoping to spend the better part of the day in this area but I decided to cut it short and head back to West Glacier. It was early afternoon and I didn’t really have anything planned that day apart from the excursion to Bigfork. So I decided to take a break and head back to the cabin.

Clear Waters of Lake Five

I like the Lake Five Resort since it is on the shores of a lake. I have never stayed in this kind of place because and I must say that I like it. The first day I got here was overcast so I didn’t get nice photos of the lake. However, this time, the weather was much better and let me see the true beauty of the lake. Lake Five is not a very large lake. It is probably formed much like how the other lakes in the area were. One difference is that Lake Five doesn’t have the tall mountains which make lake like Lake McDonald famous. You can see that there are opportunities for watersports here like canoeing and of course swimming. I think it was too cold for either activity but the nice weather lets me take nice photos of the lake. Like Lake McDonald, the waters of Lake Five are also very clear. If only the weather was warmer then it would be really nice to swim in it.
