Sacred Dancing Cascade

Sacred Dancing Cascade

Sacred Dancing Cascade

The Going to the Sun Road was built to run past McDonald Creek as it makes it way to Lake McDonald. Since the water is going down the mountain, it is inevitable that there would be waterfalls here. Some of the more well known ones are McDonald Falls and the Sacred Dancing Cascade. The latter one has a very colorful name and I think I can see why it was named like that. The water is so plentiful here that is looks like it is dancing. The car park is actually right beside the waterfall and directly above it. This makes viewing of the waterfall a bit awkward.

Fortunately, a bridge was built to cross McDonald creek and so visitors can view the cascade better. It was still a good distance away though. My telephoto lens was able to bring the waterfall a little closer though. If you want to get physically closer, there is a trail which bring you closer to the waterfall. Just be careful not to fall into the water. It is a bit confusing as to which waterfall I was looking at since there were actually several within the vicinity. I hope I got the right name down.
