Closer Look at Hidden Lake

The view from the Hidden Lake Overlook at Glacier National Park is a refreshing sight for someone who has been hiking for a while. I never really got to time how long it took me to do it since I was stopping frequently along the way. I was keeping an eye out for wildlife which were supposed to be quite plentiful. I was hoping I would be able to see a bear here but I didn’t get such luck . A few days later I would be told that people saw bears at the Hidden Lake Overlook. Oh well. By the time I got to the overlook it was already around eleven in the morning. While there were still patches of blue sky, it was obvious that it wasn’t clear skies anymore.

Mountain Around Hidden Lake

Bearhat mountain, the mountain in the middle of the scenery, is a solid block of black color. There some some white patches for snow but it doesn’t come out nice in the photo. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about this. The sun was already behind Bearhat mountain and can’t shine on Hidden Lake itself to get that nice blue shade typical of alpine lakes. I was hoping the conditions would change so I wait around thirty minutes at the overlook but I didn’t have any better luck. I was dismayed but this was due to the closure of the Going to the Sun Road from the western end. I would have gotten here two hours earlier had it not been for the closure.
