Going to Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park East Entrance

I had a great night’s sleep at Lake Five Resort. It isn’t very bright inside the sleeping area in the cabin so I didn’t realize that it was already morning. Fortunately, I set my alarm so I was already awake. I didn’t realize that it was going to be a beautiful day. I was thinking of just going to some nearby places but with the weather this good, I think I need to change it up a bit. Glacier National Park is a large park. It covers a large area and there are multiple entrances to the park. I was staying near West Glacier and sure enough there is an entrance nearby. Unfortunately, parts of the main road connecting West and East Glacier is under construction.

Because of the construction at this connecting road, I needed to go a different way to the other side of the park. There is a long route which goes around the park to the other side. This would take me a good two hours to travel so I needed to leave early. I was actually surprised as to how far it actually was, to the point that I was getting fuel anxiety. There were hardly any places to refuel so it would be best to make sure that you are all topped up when you travel. The roads were very big and it was a pleasure to drive on them. There were some stop overs along the way but I wasn’t interested in them yet. I just wanted to get to the other side. I passed through the village of East Glacier and noticed that there were a lot of cabins here. I still liked where I was staying better. There were restaurants here too so I think it might be worth dropping by here for dinner. Upon arrival at the village of Saint Mary, I topped up my fuel and made my way to the east entrance which is not too far away.
