Roast Beef at House of Plates in Castlebar

I was hoping to be able to have lunch at Mulranny but it seems that I was a bit too early here. I decided to continue on and have lunch elsewhere. I was heading north to county Donegal and I ended up in the town of Castlebar. I have heard of this town before but this is the first time I have been here. I don’t know what is here but I was only interested in filling my tummy. It was a little difficult to find parking near the town center and I ended up going around several times. There was mass going on and there were a lot of people out. It was only when the Mass was concluded that there was finally parking.

I found this place very near the Church of the Holy Rosary called House of Plates. With a name like that I hope their food was going to be good. I got the roast beef which I initially thought wasn’t that large but it turned out to be quite filling. The beef was tender and it was very easy to eat. This was a nice change from all the seafood I have been eating for the past few days. The House of Plates has a nice interior which gives the impression that it is some underground cellar. I don’t know if if this really was the case but I like the design. One problem, I had with this was that because of the structure, cellular signal wasn’t very good. I guess they would just tell you to keep eating and talk to your friends.
