Shopping Malls at Xinyi District

Taipei 101 was much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. It is probably normal for me to want to climb what used to be the world’s tallest building and I finally got to do that. The observation deck was surprisingly spacious and there was a lot of area to view the city of Taipei at night. Unfortunately, much of Taipei doesn’t build that high up, which meant that there weren’t too many tall buildings near Taipei 101. The area where Taipei 101 is called Xinyi and it seems to have been zoned for commercial buildings. There is of course the Taipei 101 and its component mall but there are also other shopping malls in the area.

There are some fancy shopping malls here in the Xinyi District, I kind of wish I knew about this sooner since I have been out in the city getting wet from the constant rain. There are large shopping centers which occupy a city block. Immediately beside Taipei 101 is Taipei Nanshan Shopping Mall 台北南山广场. It looks like several blocks put on top of the other. It seems to be positioned as a high end shopping mall much like all the other shopping centers here. The next mall here is the oddly named ATT 4 Fun Shopping Mall, which looks more like one for teenagers. I never got to go in these shopping centers since it seems like it was already closing time. Perhaps the next time I come to this area, I would see more of these shopping malls.
