Coral Jewelry at Taipei 101

I tried my best to take photos from the top of Taipei 101 but it was difficult since the observatory wasn’t dark enough. It was tough to get rid of reflections, I had to go to awkward locations just to get a photo without a reflection in it. I had a good look at the tuned mass damper and it see how it is a marvel of engineering. With nothing much else to see here, I continued on out the observatory. But before that I needed to pass through what appears to be a jewelry store. This seems like a very silly location to put a jewelry store but somehow they thought it was a good idea.

This wasn’t no mere jewelry store. This is actually coral jewelry. While I knew that coral can be turned into jewelry, I didn’t know it was done at this scale. It was almost an exhibit of different forms of coral jewelry which I didn’t think was possible. There were still the normal looking coral but these weren’t very common. Most of the designs of the coral are Chinese themed. Some of them you need to take a closer look to appreciate them. The more well off people would be able to purchase them here in what is probably the worlds tallest coral jewelry store.
