Taipei 101 is the tallest skyscraper in Taiwan. Skyscrapers such as these usually have observation decks to the public can come up an admire the view of the city from high up. Taipei 101 also has its observation deck. I never intended to visit the top of the Taipei 101 but when I saw the price, I thought that wasn’t that bad after all. So I just went for it. There is a queue for the lift going to the top of the tower but that wasn’t something that took long. The observation deck itself was dark which probably made sense since you won’t be able to see out the window if it was too bright inside.

As expected, you can see the whole of Taipei from here. What came to my mind immediately was that it is a pity that Taipei is so flat. It would have been nice if there are more tall buildings that you can identify from the top of the tower. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of them here. The nearest tower is one which isn’t very far from Taipei 101. The rest of the city on the other hand looks more like a points of light. You can see the major roads here since they are brightly lit. To me, it looks more like looking at the sky rather than the city since the lights look more like stars.
