Going Up Taipei 101

I was glad to have visited Taipei 101. There is an attached shopping mall here which seemed to be too fancy for me. I was hoping there was food here but the Din Tai Fung which I wanted to try was full and the queue outside was very long. I decided to just wander around the shopping mall but I accidentaly stumbled into another part of Taipei 101. One thing which has been nagging me was whether it is possible to go up the tower. The answer is yes, or rather, of course it is possible. As is typical for very tall towers like the Taipei 101, there is an observation deck here at the top of the skyscraper. I was having second thoughts on visiting the top of the tower but ended up queuing up for a ticket.

Turns out the tickets to the top wasn’t terribly expensive at NT600. I was kind of relieved with this since there are pricier places elsewhere in the region. Purchasing the ticket was a breeze. There were several counters to choose from. The was however a queue to the lift which takes you to the top. Once on boards the lifts it like an express train to the top of the tower. There is a LCD display which informs you where you are in the tower. You don’t have to wait very long anyway, since the lifts are very quick.
