Aranmore Island of the Wild Atlantic Way

I was truly surprised how much natural beauty that Aranmore Island had to offer. While I would think that I have gotten sued to see such raw natural beauty here in Ireland, it never ceases to surprise me how much it pleases me to see such places. Aranmore Island is also part of the Wild Atlantic Way, which is a driving route from the north of Ireland to the south following the Atlantic coast. There is no bridge connecting Aranmore Island to the mainland but there is a ferry to reach it. I think it is a worthwhile detour from the major sites of the Wild Atlantic Way.

I would like to think that the Wild Atlantic Way is more of a guide to visitors who are not familiar with the area. There are numerous detours that can be had here and a lot of these places are worthy destinations like Aranmore Island is. The island is not modern by any means, but it doesn’t mean that it is backward. It is a nice quiet place for visitors wishing to see the real Ireland. In fact, I could think of Aranmore Island as a mini version of Ireland itself. It has rolling hills, cliffs and churches.
