Inside Malbork Railway Station

A lot of railway stations are destinations onto themselves. This is probably true for the very large train stations of old. However, there are a lot of stations which don’t have the size but are still quite attractive. I think the Malbork Railway Station is one of those. It is built in red brick and it is quite attractive. It has that nice European look to it. I managed to get a sandwich for lunch and I went inside to find a seat. Fortunately, there was a seating area inside the train station. There were actually several other passengers here obviously waiting for their train ride.

My train ride isn’t scheduled until three hours later, however, I have finished exploring the castle and I seemed to have finished early. I was hoping I would be able to board an earlier train so I don’t have to wait longer to get back to Warsaw. I was watching television in the station when they showed that there was already snow in the mountainous areas. It appeared to be a cemetery and only that that I realized that it was actually All Saints Day which explains why the castle was closed. It was silly of me to not realize this sooner. Long story short, I was able to board the earlier train without hassle and I was back in Warsaw in less than three hours.
