I slowly made my way back to the city of Krakow. The roads were not that big so I can’t drive that fast. By the time I got to the motorway, it was already dark. I had a long day exploring the southern Poland and all for the chance to see all these old wooden churches. I would say that they are very much worth visiting. Unfortunately, there was no easy way to get there on your own unless you rent a car. Speaking of car, I needed to return the car to the rental shop. I said I would return it by seven but I think I would be late by an hour. I phoned the company and they were okay with the time. The only condition was that the car needs to be unblemished and filled up when I returned it. By the time I got to the city and to a filling station, only then did I see how dirty the car became. The wet roads really did a number on the car but it is nothing a good wash can’t fix. I filled up the tank just before heading straight to the meeting point.

I ran into trouble since I was supposed to meet the guy at the car park in the mall. But I couldn’t figure out how to enter the car park. I ended up parking somewhere across the mall, which turned out to be a taxi queue. That probably explains all that honking. The guy found me and I managed to return the car. It was the same guy who I got the car from. I guess it was tough to see if there were any dents in the car since it was so dirty from that whole day of driving but my conscience is clear that I didn’t add anything to what was already there.

I finally got back to the old town of Krakow and it was time for dinner. I was so hungry since all I had that day was a sandwich, and it wasn’t very nice either. I managed to find this place in the old town named Polskie Smaki Restauracja. Apparently that means, Polish Restaurant. I guess they can’t find a name to use. Anyway, the restaurant obviously serves Polish food. This particular restaurant seems to be one of the more affordable ones. They don’t seem to have waiters and you queue up to point at food, much like a canteen. I got myself a pork rib dish. I had no idea what the name of the dish was but it was much larger than I thought it would be. I didn’t expect it to be that large so I ordered a place of pierogi. This turned out to be a very heavy meal. By the end of the meal, I was stuffed. The pork ribs were okay but they made up in quantity so I didn’t mind that. The pierogi was your typical pierogi and nothing really struck me about it. I was very happy to find this place since it was really affordable. I didn’t expect to have this kind of place in the old town itself.
