Going to Brunary

Church of Saint Michael in Brunary

My first visit to a tserkva was an interesting one. I have never been to an Eastern rite Catholic church before and it was an eye opener. I think what I realized is how similar it is with the Roman Catholic faith. The church had the expected interiors which I have come to associate with the Eastern rite churches which somehow give it an authentic feel. I was lucky that the church was open to visitors but I merely took a few photos and then I was on my way once more.

My next stop would be the village of Brunary. By now, I have an idea of how Polish villages look like. They don’t seem to be very lively, and at least from the ones I have visited, the houses seemed to be not too close to each other. Perhaps this is just country living. I could imagine how the churches would come to life on Sundays. Brunary isn’t that far from Owczary. Fortunately, I have a rental car with me so I can get there faster. Surprisingly, despite all that driving, I wasn’t tired yet. I was hungry though, that sandwich didn’t seem to have made it to my tummy.
