Cornstore Restaurant

I arrived in Cork early evening and I got settled into the bed and breakfast which I would be spending the night in. The place is actually quite spacious and more so for me since I was traveling alone. I thought about visiting some of the sights here in Cork but I was already tired and I just wanted to relax. I only got one night to spend here in Cork and I don’t think I can do it any justice. I decided to just kick back and relax. I would start with dinner. The bed and breakfast was not in the city center so I would need to travel a bit to get there.

Fortunately, there was a bus stop near bed and breakfast, one of the buses here goes to the city center. I was in luck. I wasn’t sure how to get around the city since it was my first time there but through the magic to Google, I was able to find out when I would get off the bus. The bus passed through some residential neighborhood and I got to see a bit of Cork city from the bus. It was not as busy as Dublin but I think it comes close. The city center itself is alive with activity and there were a lot of places to visit – shops and restaurants.

A look in my phone and I was recommended to visit Cornstore which seems to be a steak place. I had a little trouble finding the place since it wasn’t very obvious, plus the place was in a rather run down looking area. To be fair, the area seemed to be safe but I guess I wasn’t expecting a famous restaurant to set up shop here. The restaurant itself was very dark and it seemed to be a place for an intimate dinner. I had a large piece of steak and it was very nice. I was surprised at how much meat there was. I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it. The piece was rather thick so I had a bit of trouble cutting it down to size. The service was excellent as everyone was asking about my steak. Fortunately, it was good. My only problem with the place was that it was so dark that I couldn’t take a proper photo of my steak. Still, I wouldn’t mind coming back here.
