The town of Cashel is quite a pretty town. It is probably not a surprise since there are always a lot tourists here in Cashel who come to see the Rock of Cashel. The town in the meantime has been dressed up for the tourists. I like it like that since it makes the town much livelier. Buildings along Main street seem to be freshly painted and against the blue sky, it really looks nice. I was pleasantly surprised to see a fountain here the town center. Water features are always nice in a town and in Cashel, it is no different.

The fountain actually is more like a several heads which spout water. I don’t think the water is drinkable. This fountain was built in honor of Dean Thomas Kinane. Fr. Kinane was a well known figure in Cashel as he led efforts to improve the town by buildings more schools, improving the church during his tenure there. He was a very prolific writer of devotional books and actually earned quite a lot from it. He was very generous in sharing his income and that made him a very beloved figure. The fountain here was built in his honour, though perhaps the addition of his statue might have been more meaningful here.
