My Japanese Companion Walking Along the Shores of the Moon Lake 月湖

Perhaps the largest single feature of the Xidi Ancient Town is Moon Lake. As the name implies, Moon Lake is moon shaped is the primary recreation area of the village. No, there are no watersports here in fact it is totally the opposite. The best thing to do along Moon Lake is to just relax. Most of the visitors here will one way or another find themselves sitting by the shores of the lake and just admiring the village. I did see some folk fishing though I don’t think there are a lot of large fish here.

The Moon Lake also serves as the reservoir of the village, the water flowing through the village inevitably find there way here. Obviously, it is critical that the water here in Moon Lake be protected from rubbish which sometimes find their way into the lake. Annoyingly sheets of paper are still found in the water left by careless art students. I wonder if their teachers admonish them for doing so. Though I don’t think they will ever catch them in the act.
