I finally lost interest to visit Changling 长陵 since I wasn’t really very impressed with Ding Ling, besides, I didn’t think it was worth it to pay CNY 60 for each of the 13 Ming Tombs. So here was I waiting for my ride back. The lady at the car park told me to wait for bus 925 which is sort of an express bus to Beijing city. Although E22 brought me to the same place, it takes far too long to get back. I was willing to pay a little more for the express.

Sure enough bus 925 came but you have to make sure that it goes back to the city. As it turns out, you can take bus 925 to Changling but I had no interest in that anymore. When my bus finally came, it took that expressway and got us back to Beijing in no time. They dropped me off at the transportation hub of Deshengmen 德胜门.

Deshengmen is one of the old city gates of ancient Beijing. There is still a watch tower with very imposing city walls. It has been turned into a tourist attraction and it was a very interesting place to put a transporation hub. Conveniently, Deshengmen was near the subway station Jishuitan 积水潭 on Line 2, I didn’t know it yet though since I decided to do a little exploration in the hopes of find a way back home.
