Any regular reader of this blog would know that when I go on trips, I don’t like staying in one place that long. Naturally, it doesn’t do the place any justice if I only get a taste of what they have to offer but reality says that I don’t have a lot of time to spare when going on trips. Much as I would like to spend more time in a place, I would like to see as much as I can. This trip is no different. I like using the UNESCO World Heritage sites as a framework for figuring out my itinerary. That also goes the same for accommodations. In the case of Český Krumlov, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site itself, there is another one not that far away. Unfortunately, getting there isn’t as convenient. That’s why we rented a car to make that problem go away.

Holašovice is only thirty minutes away from Český Krumlov but it would be easier for us to just drive there. And considering that I had companions this time, it would be more cost effective since we can just split the cost of fuel. To get there by public transportation, it seems the commuters would need to go to another town and transfer to another bus but we didn’t need to know that anymore. Much of the route passes through the South Bohemian countryside. I noticed that there weren’t a lot of tall mountains in this area. While there would be hills along the way, it seems that this region is generally flat. Perhaps there are mountains elsewhere but at least the way we took was largely flat.
