While everyone was outside the Casa di Giulietta trying to take photos with the bronze statue of William Shakespeare’s Juliet Capulet, I was inside the supposed house of the Juliet. Of course this is all not true since Juliet wasn’t even real but the house had all the makings of a scene straight from the lines of Shakespeare. A lot of maintenance went into the house, included the famed balcony which had to be remade. The house was actually owned by the Dal Cappello family. Perhaps the similarity in the surnames gave rise to the idea that Juliet was actually born here.

Currently, it is a rather ordinary medieval house. It is a museum which is dedicated to the story of Juliet. There are statues inside of her as well as costumes which were used in the play. Honestly, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the museum here, probably because I wasn’t that big into Shakespeare in the first place. The house has several floors and rooms which depict locations from the play. I have to admit that I don’t remember much about the story to be able to relate to what I was seeing. All I knew what that these all related to the story one way or another.
