I managed to find the Palazzo della Ragione in Padova which apparently is also part of the Padua’s Fourteenth Century Fresco Cycles UNESCO World Heritage listing. Before I get there, I need to go through what seems to be a seasonal outdoor market which is also packed with people. While there were stalls selling souvenir items, most of the stalls here would be selling stuff which ordinary people would be using. I walked up and down the aisles looking for something interesting but nothing really tickled my fancy. I think it was time to go to the Palazzo della Ragione.

Apart from the frescoes which made the palazzo a UNESCO World Heritage site, this is also used to be a town hall. This town hall was built in the twelfth century which makes it the largest still in use medieval town hall. I am actually surprised that it lasted this long since these kinds of places have a tendency to burn down every few centuries. Apart from it being a town hall, it also serves as a market hall as it still does to this day. The ground floor of the Palazzo della Ragione is host to a number of stalls which sell local produce such as meat, vegetables and of course, pasta. It is very interesting to see this continued all the way to the twenty first century. Despite it being a market and all, I thought the market hall was clean and very well maintained.
