I was on a quick visit to the city of Padova or Padua not too far from the city of Venice. While most people would rightly go and visit Venice, the neighboring city of Padova also has a few places worth visiting. I have been there before, so there was no need to go back to Venice so soon. I was on my way to the hotel where I will be staying at. I took the bus to the city center and was walking to the hotel when I came upon one of the major landmarks of the city of Padova – the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua. I may not be familiar with the story of Saint Anthony of Padua but I am aware of the name. In fact, Saint Anthony of Padua is probably the only thing I know about Padua.

The Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua just so happens to be right outside where my hotel is and I thought that I might as well go an have a look backpacks and all. By the time I got to the basilica, the weather wasn’t very clear. There was a thick fog and it doesn’t look very nice. The lights of the basilica weren’t on yet and it made for a dreary looking church. Normally when I see an old church, I would try to figure out what is the architectural style but I think this is the first old church that I have seen which there is no obvious architectural style. This is probably because it has changed over the years where multiple styles have been applied to it that it has no singular style anymore.
