I somehow managed to find the entrance to the Monastery of Santa Maria in Valle just in time. I arrived at the place a bit early and the main entrance to the monastery was still closed. I walked past the entrance without knowing what it was probably because the signs were all in Italian. Fortunately, by the time I retraced my steps to figure out if I missed anything, the entrance gates were already open for visitors. If the entrance wasn’t open the second time I walked past it then I might have already given up thinking it might not be open to visitors.

The main gates lead to the front desk where I can purchase tickets to the museum and monastery. The first part of the visit is the museum which, as usual, is a showcase of artifacts which were found in in this area. Items which are common in a monastery are on display here and honestly, I wasn’t too interested in them. I know I was wasting my ticket by not learning more about them but I guess it wasn’t large enough to interest me. The exhibits were all in glass and they had descriptions with them. But I think I was just in a hurry to go to the main exhibit. I’m not in too much of a hurry but I also need to keep moving.
