Fremont River at Capitol Reef National Park
Fremont River at Capitol Reef National Park

If any of you have been paying attention to these posts I made for these series, you would know that I didn’t really go much hiking here in these national parks. I know, these places are made for hiking and even I wasn’t lazy, I would have probably had tried to go on one of them had I had the time to spare. The next stop here at Capitol Reef National Park is along the Fremont River. While the river itself isn’t much to look at, since it isn’t as large as the other rivers I have seen in these kinds of area, it was still worth noting that there actually is a river here despite how dry it looks. However, the parking area here is actually more for a different spot – Hickman Bridge.

Unfortunately, for me, the Hickman Bridge isn’t the type of spot where you get out of the car and take photos and get back in. This time, I would need to work for my photos. There is a little walking to be done here and I was promised that it is going to be a moderate walk, this also means that it isn’t easy. The trail here starts from the car park and follows the cliff face. There are some steps that are made here but I don’t expect to see them all the way to the Hickman Bridge. I’m hoping that it won’t be that tough since I still have to drive around and I don’t think it is a good idea to be driving around if your legs have turned to jelly from all that hiking.
