Multicolor Cliff at Bristlecone Loop at Bryce Canyon National Park

I decided to go on a short hike here at the highest point of Bryce Canyon National Park. Bristlecone Loop goes through a small forest of bristlecone pines. I don’t expect much from this hike since it is just like walking through a forest. There was snow on the ground but not that much to give me trouble walking. I chose this hike only because it is very short. For more experienced visitors, they can go on other hikes which start a Yovimpa Point. If I had enough time, I would have probably gone on one of the longer hikes since the view is quite good here. However, I have a schedule to keep and I need to get back to work.

Bristlecone Loop eventually leads me to another viewpoint. I honestly don’t know any of the features here and I was just admiring the view. I can see that there are sandstone slopes here but I can also see that there aren’t too many of the hoodoos which are plentiful in other parts of the park. Still you can see the difference in the colors of the layers. It is a result of different types of material settling on the sea bed over time. When this area was uplifted, and water and ice got to work can eventually exposed the ancient layers. It is truly an amazing sight to see.
