I was already on to the last stop of my tour of the fresco cycles of Padova when it started raining. I wasn’t expecting rain and I was totally unprepared for it. As a result, my lens was wet and the photos look even worse than they already are. Still I knew that I needed to continue for the sake of my dear readers. The next stop was nearby but it was in a park and there wasn’t a lot of shelter. I decided to go in a nearby church and hopefully wait out the rain. The Chiesa degli Eremitani unexpectedly became my next destination.

Unfortunately, not too many people come to this church because there is a far more famous church just around the corner. I know that I was only here because I was trying to get out from the rain but I thought that I might as well have a look around the church while I was at it. The Chiesa degli Eremitani is no mere church either, this church has also been around since the fourteenth century. It is not as famous at the nearby church but it also have some interesting points to see. As far as I can tell, the church has a lot of Romanesque features including the rose windows typical of Romanesque styles. From the entrance the inside of the church is unremarkable. It turns out that the church was heavily damaged in the war and there was a lot lost due to the bombing.
