I was trying to follow an old wine route which is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage site list. This route is known as the Strada del Prosecco or just the prosecco road because of the prosecco they produce here. I was having trouble figuring out where exactly I need to go along the prosecco road. There would be signs but I would lose track of them sooner or later. Somehow I still found myself outside an old pieve or rural church dedicated to San Pietro di Felleto. The church has frescoes typical of the Lombards and just the look gives you an idea of how old it is. The church itself was unfortunately closed and I was only able to see the frescoes outside the walls of the church.

The church itself is on a little bit of elevation and you can see some of the surrounding area. It was foggy that morning and a lot of the hills are obscured but it gives that mysterious aura and makes you want to find out what is out there. It was, of course, winter and I had no illusions that I would be able to see any vineyards. But I know that beyond the fog, there is the rich history of wine making that made this area a producer of the finest prosecco in the world.
