Skiing Towards Ortisei
Skiing Towards Ortisei

When I took the gondola to the top of Seceda, there were a lot of people making their way up the mountain. Unlike the cable car, the was only one gondola for each of the two tracks. This means there would be a lot of more people waiting for a ride. This is why the gondola is so much bigger than the cable car which can be a little more personal. I went down the mountain before noon and I actually got a personal gondola down the mountain. Unlike the cable cars, the windows of the gondola were clearer, and I can even stick the camera a little outside for ever clearer photos. I have forgotten how enjoyable these rides can be since it is so quiet and you get the enjoy soaring through the alpine scenery at Seceda.

The slope gets flatter the closer we approach Ortisei. At this point in the ride, there would be small structures visible from the gondola. It is cliche, but they look like toys when viewed from above. The lighting also gives that diorama effect. I was also surprised to see that there were people skiing in this area, I thought that the ski area was just at the top but there were people near the cable car station. I doubt they made it all the way down the mountain since it is very steep, though not impossible. I wouldn’t stay any longer in Ortisei and I was getting ready to head back.
