Crispy Pata at Henann Palm Beach Resort
I wasn’t particularly happy with our dinner. It was by no means bad, but I think it wasn’t much for the price that it was asking. We left the restaurant not very happy. It was already evening and we didn’t really know where else to go. We just decided to head back to the hotel and go for some drinks. The Philippines has a drinking culture where you need to have food to go down with the drinks. A lot of times that food can actually already be meals by themselves. Fortunately for us, Henann Palm Beach Resort, where we are staying, also serves bar food.
Pork Sisig at Henann Palm Beach Resort
Our hotel has a restaurant area, which serves an excellent international buffet. We will not be doing that tonight but we know that they can make bar food for us. As in any hotel, you can order and it will be delivered to where you are. Instead of heading to our rooms, we decided to have drinks near the pool. The hotel has an infinity pool on the top floor and it makes for the perfect place to have some drinks. Naturally, we also ordered food along with them.
Lechon Kawali at Henann Palm Beach Resort
We had the quintessential Filipino drinks food and that is sisig. Sisig is basically pig spare parts like the face, the ears, all chopped up and served on the sizzling plate. It make not be for everyone but this is fabulous. We can’t get enough for pork here so we got a plate of crispy pata, which is deep fried pig trotters. The other pork dish is lechon kawali which is deep fried pork belly. Obviously, not the healthiest meals in the world but I think you can forgive us for indulging a little since we are on holiday.
