The Tall Ship

Much of the my business trip to Boston was just that – all business. It was great to see the others once again. At least you get to see the people behind those zoom calls. This is also a nice break from the monotony of work so I really look forward to these trips. Much of my time was spent with the others, and I didn’t get much time for myself. We would have dinner together as well to build the camaraderie. For dinner, we will be going to this place called The Tall Ship.

We had to cross the harbor to get there but it was short and pleasant ride. The Tall Ship is a bar which as the name implies is on a ship by a pier. Obviously, the ship itself doesn’t go anywhere as it is more or less permanently docked here. The gimmick here is that there are several food stalls around the dock and you can pick whatever you want. This is mostly bar food they serve here but I think the ambience here is good. There are couches set up here and you can eat and drink here all you want. There are also games on the side if you are interested in stuff like cornhole. The staff will be constantly asking you want to drink here so be prepared for that.

After the Storm from The Tall Ship

After the Storm from The Tall Ship

Unfortunately, a sudden severe thunderstorm came and we were rained out. The Tall Ship has a large shelter setup for times like these. The storm was bad enough that even if we were already under the shelter, the strong winds would just keep blowing the rain in. We still tried to make light of the situation. In the end, the storm finally stopped but management decided that it was time to close shop. This was unfortunate because we paid for the drinks package and I don’t think people got to drink as much as they want. I thought it was rather underhanded of them to close early but they might have their own reasons for this. Rather than argue about it, we just moved to a different place. It was a shame since I thought the idea was very neat.
