Going to Messel

It was towards the end of my trip to this part of Germany. I have already arrived at Frankfurt where I will be departing from but I still have some places to visit before the trip is over. I spent the previous day exploring the city of Frankfurt, particularly the old town area and I thought that it was very nice. I know that they aren’t the original structures but they still look nice and hopefully faithful to the original designs. The following day, I would be going around of the city again. There is a nearby city called Darmstadt which I want to visit. It isn’t far so I don’t need to rush out early in the morning to get there.

While Darmstadt would be my main destination, there is a small town which is in the vicinity called Messel. This place is known for its rich trove of dinosaur fossils and why wouldn’t I want to go there if you say dinosaur. I needed to transfer to a bus from the Darmstadt. It was easy enough to find but the intervals between the buses were quite large. I eventually found the bus and I was whisked off to Messel. Along the way, I saw a sign to the fossil site and I got excited but the bus continued on and there was no stop there. I think one would have to get off along the main road and walk the rest of the way. I ended up going to the town proper of Messel.
