Köln Old Market Christmas Market

I was walking around in the Köln city center just checking out the city. I know that I have a few days here in Köln but I would be out most of the time and I would like to make the most of the allocated time to see at least the city center of Köln. I started at the most famous landmark in the city which is the Köln Cathedral and started moving on from that. After only passing through Museum Ludwig, I found myself in yet another Christmas Market. Apparently, I ended up at where the old market of Köln used to be. These days, it is a square but in Christmas time, there is a very lively Christmas market.

I had just passed through the Christmas market beside the cathedral and I thought it was nice, but I think the one at the old market is much better. For one thing, the stalls at the Christmas market are much better designed. You can see that much more care was put in to the design and even overall plan of the Christmas market. I would end up visiting this market every night in my stay in Köln. As you would expect, there are numerous stalls here and I think what I like about them is the variety of the stalls. Yes, the set of food on sale would usually be the same for various Christmas markets but there are also locally produced products and handicraft, which you probably only see on television, that can be found here. A lot of these products are also Christmas-centric which makes it even more important to visit these Christmas markets whenever you get the chance to.
