Interiors of The Venetian

Painting at The Venetian Atrium

I can see that The Venetian was designed with great care, compared to the other hotels I have seen today. The Venetian as the name implies is inspired by Venice, Italy. I was very impressed with the design of the hotel that I spent more time here than I expected. There are various landmarks which visitors to Venice would recognize here. Most prominently is the Venetian canals complete with gondola. The canal winds its way into the hotel as well which I think is a very nice touch. However, this is not the extent of the care that was taken to design The Venetian.

I thought I was done exploring The Venetian and I was heading out the hotel, but I came across a large atrium in the hotel and I was surprised to see a massive painting on the ceiling of the atrium. The painting is reminiscent of paintings I have seen in Italy. I guess the most famous example I could think of it the Sistine Chapel in Rome. While I think it would be scandalous to compare the mural here at the hotel with the Sistine Chapel, it had such an impression on me that it shook me to know that this was just a hotel. As you would expect, this gives the hotel a feeling of a palace. Probably one of the reasons why their other hotel tower is called The Palazzo. I thought I was lucky to have seen this just before I left.
