I got back to Page in Arizona in good time. There was still plenty of light left outside and the temperature was going down slightly. I didn’t really have anything planned after this so it thought to just rest a bit at the hotel while I wait for the sun to go down. Stepping outside really feels like you are stepping into an oven. I can’t imagine how I would be able to live in such a place but people actually live and work here. Maybe electricity is cheap enough because of the nearby dam that they can afford to run air-conditioning all the time. This town is so far away from anything that it takes a couple of hours to get to the nearest city, which is Flagstaff I believe.

I got out of the hotel ready for dinner. Much as I enjoyed the previous night’s dinner at Big John’s Texas BBQ, I didn’t want to repeat. I ended up going to this strip mall which was near the hotel. There was a place called Dam Bar & Grille, which looked okay. The restaurant was huge inside but there weren’t a lot of people eating. This was vastly different from Big John’s where it was packed with people. I knew it was a bad sign but they have air conditioning so it won’t be that bad.

I ended up ordering steak which wasn’t anything special. It was quite substantial and I thought the way it was cooked looked a bit different. It almost looked like it was undercooked but it was cooked all the way through. The meat was tender but again, there wasn’t anything special about it. The staff was very attentive to me and was constantly asking how I was. At least I would give them kudos for customer service.
