Quincy Market

It seems that I have stumbled into a rather lively location here in Boston. I was surprised at how walkable the city is. There are numerous parks which connect one place to another that you soon forget that you are actually in a big city. This was the same when I arrived in Faneuil Hall which apparently is a marketplace complex composed of several structures. Faneuil Hall is the meeting hall while the other parts served as markets. One of the famous places here is Quincy Market. It seems that it is one of the must visit places in Boston and I can see that people really do come here.

Back then, this whole area a marketplace. Quincy Market is one of the buildings here and it is named after the then mayor Josiah Quincy. It was a very lively place. There was also some rather unpleasant activities done here such as slave trading. These days, there is no slave trading nor market anymore. Quincy Market these days is known for food. Upon entry into the Quincy Market building, you can see that the long building is lined with numerous food stalls. Of course, these are mostly food that you can eat while walking, such as sandwiches and similar food. Much as I wanted to have something there, it wasn’t time for dinner yet. I was planning to have a nice dinner somewhere and I hope that it won’t have to be a sandwich.
