Walking Up the Shepherd’s Path at the Giant’s Causeway

The Giant’s Causeway at the Giant’s Causeway refers to the strip of land which sticks out to the water. You know which one it is because it is the one with the most people on it. This is the one with the large hexagonal columns which form the land in this part of the coast. It certainly is a sight to see these interesting regular structures that rose out of the sea. There are other places nearby which are also like that but one would have to do a bit of hiking to see them. If it is a good day, I strongly suggest to go see it. It is not that far.

At this point, our group had to split up. Some members of the group saw the hike that lies ahead and decided to turn back. Indeed, this would be the best place to turn back since much of the way is all flat. The rest of the way here is uphill. There is a path which goes to what is called the amphitheater. As the name implies, is it a place which is surrounded by three sides. I have been there previously but we will not be going there today. We will instead shorten the hike by going up and straight to what is called the Shepherd’s Path. This is probably the steepest part of the trail here but I think it is still not too bad. You would be able to get great views of the area and it is strongly recommended that visitors walk this trail. It will eventually lead back to the entrance so it will not be a wasted effort.
