Entering the Sacre Coeur Basilica

The Sacre Coeur Basilica is one of the most well known landmarks in the city of Paris. Arguably, it is also one of the most beautiful places in Paris. For some reason, I didn’t hear about this place until recently. I guess, Paris has a lot of beautiful places that it kept getting overshadowed by other places. This time, I managed to find it and what a day for me to visit it. The sky was clear and the sun was starting to go down. Knowing this, I should start to go in the basilica and take my photos because I know that the lighting of the basilica would be nice that evening.

I think most people were too excited taking photos of the sunset to all be in the basilica right now. Indeed, I was able to take a photo of the entrance without much people. Looking at it, you can see the romanesque heritage of the basilica. The arches of the entrance are primarily romanesque in design. The inside of the basilica was dark as you would expect especially so after coming from the bright outside. After a few minutes of adjusting, I can see how elegant the church is. This is very different from the gothic interiors that I have seen the past week. I was actually glad to see this at least I know that it is something different.
