Exploring Petite France

I was glad that I got to visit the city of Colmar early. This gave me enough time to look around while most visitors would just be getting out. I managed to find the signature attraction La Petite Colmar and I would think that it is really very attractive. It is very similar to the Petite France quarter which is in nearby Strasbourg. I would argue that the one in Colmar is much prettier because the houses there seem to be more “authentic”. You are actually somewhat nearer the scene in La Petite Venise compared to Petite France where you are looking on from the side.

I made my way back to the city of Strasbourg. It turned out that it was still early in the afternoon and I think I have a lot of time to go around. One place that I realized that I haven’t been to is the barrage area in Petite France. I saw it when I first arrived at Strasbourg but I just got there and I still had my heavy backpack with me. It was a shame because the weather was great that day but I really wanted to put my backpack down before doing anything else. By the time I got back to the city center, the sun had already gone down then. This time, it was still mid afternoon so I have a bit of time to explore this part of Petite France.
