Walking Along the Canals of La Petite Venise

La Petite Venise or Little Venice is the number one attraction in the city of Colmar. You can see pictures of La Petite Venise in posters. In fact, there was a poster of La Petite Venise at my apartment in Strasbourg. I thought that the photo was one of Petite France in Strasbourg itself but somehow my photos looked different. I looking at my photos and comparing it with the poster confirmed that this was a totally different place. Fortunately, I reserved enough time to visit Strasbourg that I had time to allocate one day for Colmar. Now, I just have to find the spot of that poster.

I was already walking along the canal in Colmar. At least, I was hoping that I was walking along the correct canal since there might be several here. I still didn’t bring out my phone to tell me exactly where the spot is. I have a feeling I was already very close. Near a bridge, there were some steps to bring you near the water. I thought that maybe this is where people we go down to take the boats which use the canals. However, a look a two old boats here tells me that it probably isn’t. The boats had water in it and they didn’t seem to be in use. The ones that I saw going around were much larger. I thought that the presence of boats here indicates that I am already very near my destination.
