Going to La Petite Venise

Going to La Petite Venise

Going to La Petite Venise

I was at the city of Colmar quite early and I had the whole day to explore the picturesque city. Because of this, I didn’t really have itinerary when I came here. I knew there was a must visit place here but I wasn’t in a hurry to go there. There weren’t too many people yet but unfortunately, the weather isn’t so good. I was hoping to get blue skies but I think I just got lucky the other day. I was just randomly walking around here in the city and just going with the flow. I eventually found myself going to what appears to be a canal.

The last time I saw a canal was in Strasbourg and that ended up leading me to Petite France which is the old quarter of Strasbourg. I think I somehow found myself on the way to the tourist spots of Colmar. The buildings there are still as attractive and in fact, there seemed to be even more of them. One side of the canal is lined with beautiful timber framed houses that it can only have come from a painting. But somehow, here it is and it is very real. I understand that most of these are actually restaurants. I might have to come back here when I start looking for lunch. Not a bad spot for lunch, don’t you think so?
