It wasn’t exactly the best time for me to go for a walk in the park. The tree’s leaves have already fell and it isn’t as attractive. There is still grass here but overall it isn’t as pleasant as it could have been. There are still people who do their morning exercise and I take it as a good sign since it means that park is very much alive. I didn’t want to spend too much time in the park since the park is also quite large as it is around four times the size of Place Stanislas. I decided to keep on exploring the old town of Nancy. I didn’t have an official tourist map for Nancy so I was just playing it by ear.

I ended up seeing an old gothic church. Contrary to most of the churches and basilicas that I have seen in this trip, the Basilica of Saint Epvre is much more modest. You can say it is still rather large but compared to the other churches I have seen, this is small. What is lacks in size, it makes up in design. It isn’t as flamboyant as the famous cathedrals of this area of France but is is still a beautiful looking gothic church. Looking at the church it is generally more gothic with a sprinkling of Romanesque added in the form of the rose window. I would like to think that this church is still active but the doors were closed at the time of my visit. This seems to be a pattern now.
