Exploring Place de la Carrière

Beyond the Place Stanislas was yet another large but elongated square. This square doesn’t look as pretty as the Place Stanislas. I wasn’t sure if this was because the square looks sad with the trees in the square all looking dead. I wasn’t sure if they really are, it is winter and it could just be that the leaves just fell. Either way, there wasn’t much effort to pretty up the place. Granted, the Place de la Carrière is nice and clean, there wasn’t much to do there. There were some vehicles here which seems to imply that there is going to be some work done here. Already there is a ferris wheel set up here so maybe I was just too early. Then again, it was already middle of December, it might be too late for a Christmas market.

The surrounding buildings of Place de la Carrière don’t look as pretty as the ones as Place Stanislas. In fact, they almost look run down. There are some apartments here and a few random establishments but one of the most significant buildings here is the Governors Palace which is right at the end of the square. It is easy to tell that it is important since it looks misplaced. That being said, it still isn’t as nice as the Place Stanislas buildings. This is strange considering it is the Governor’s Palace. I think it is still in active use because there are vehicles nearby but I don’t see people going in and out of the building.
