Well, the sun has finally gone down in Strasbourg and when that happens, the lights are switched on. Like any major European city, the lights are part and parcel of the look of the city. Major buildings and monuments are typically illuminated by lights to highlight them. After all, if it is dark, no one would be able to see the building at night especially if it doesn’t have lights of its own. The Cathedral of Notre Dame de Strasbourg is one of Strasbourg’s most important landmarks. It is then no surprise that it is also illuminated at night.

The facade of the cathedral is highlighted here. It is probably challenging to highlight the other parts of the cathedral because of how tall it is. There is a Christmas Market right outside the cathedral which makes the cathedral a great backdrop to the night market. It is a little challenging to photograph the cathedral because of how bright the Christmas market is. I was thinking of just grabbing something to eat and just enjoy the view of this amazing cathedral.
